in this old haunted house one strange night
an awful noise filled me with fright
from the back yard beneath the old shed
shades of dread filled my pale worried head
found the bones deep in box #2
wrapped in lace with an old pair of shoes
the arms were both painted in blue
and the whole thing reeked madly of you
a feather fell down from the trees
then collapsing, I dropped to my knees
while the north wind she kissed my cold face
your old scarecrow stood boldly in place
if the sky should crack open and die
would I feel it without knowing why?
would the seaweed creep into my veins
and strangle the life from this game?
cinderella's got nothing on me
prince charming ran off with the beast
she poisoned him slightly enough
filled his heart with red ashes and lust
it's a shame that we ended up here
lost like buzzards in whirlpools of fear
the bones have gone cold like cheap gold
and I long for the rainbows she stole
